Our commitment to your privacy
Nirvana Physio & Rehab Inc. (“we”, “us”) operates a physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinic in Surrey, British Columbia. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
Through this website itself, we collect very little. We do not use contact forms, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels. When you contact us by phone, text, or WhatsApp, we receive the contact details you choose to share. When you book online, your booking information is collected through Jane App (see below). Personal health information needed for your care — such as your health history, assessment findings, and treatment records — is collected at the clinic with your knowledge and consent.
How we use your information
We use personal information to schedule and provide physiotherapy and rehabilitation services, to communicate with you about your care and appointments, to process billing — including direct billing to your insurer, ICBC, or WorkSafeBC with your consent — and to meet our legal and professional record-keeping obligations.
Online booking (Jane App)
Online appointments are booked through Jane App, a Canadian practice-management platform. Information you enter when booking is handled under Jane's own privacy policy and is stored on servers located in Canada. We encourage you to review Jane's privacy policy at jane.app/privacy.
WhatsApp and text messages
We offer WhatsApp and SMS as convenient ways to reach us. These services are operated by third parties and are not designed for sensitive health information. Please keep messages to scheduling and general questions, and save details about your health for your appointment or a phone call.
Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with your consent (for example, with your extended-health insurer for direct billing, or with ICBC or WorkSafeBC for claim-related care), with other health professionals involved in your care at your request, or where the law requires or permits disclosure.
How long we keep it
Clinical records are retained for the minimum periods required by our regulatory college and applicable BC law, after which they are securely destroyed. Administrative information is kept only as long as needed for the purposes described above.
Safeguards
We protect personal information with physical, administrative, and technical safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, and we limit access to staff who need it to provide your care.
Your rights
You may request access to your personal information, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent for uses that are not required by law (withdrawing consent may limit the services we can provide). To make a request, call us at 778-966-8080, email info@nirvanaphysiorehab.ca, or visit our contact page.
Questions or complaints
If you have a concern we cannot resolve, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (oipc.bc.ca) or, for matters under PIPEDA, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with its effective date.
